Found in 1974 in Gaston, Oregon by Pat and Joe Campbell, it is now the responsibility of owner and winemaker Adam Campbell. He oversees six vineyard sites with 380 planted acres. Among Elk Cover's wines are Pinot noir, Pinot blanc, Pinot gris, Chardonnay and Rosé.

The vineyard's 55 planted acres includes 18 different soil types an dsits between 320-650 feet. Eleven different clones of Pinot Noir, two different Chardonnay clones, and one clone of Pinot Gris are cultivated here.
