Delicata Delight

We are loving the cooler weather, except the random heat spike that has come through this week, and our crops are too! It is a beautiful transition time in the garden where it is still warm enough for germination but also cool enough for our fall crops to thrive.

WHAT’S NEW

We had our first fall crop harvest this week! Our winter squash grew immensely throughout the summer partly due the warmer weather and consistent watering. But, also due to the weeding and amending that we were so diligent about prior to when the plants began to vine. Shoutout to Farmer John! We are happy to say our patience has paid off. We are continuing to transplant away and make sure everything is tucked in before the cool weather fully hits.

A nutty and sweet winter squash that is not only beautiful but tasty and tender! One of our personal favorites at The Kitchen for its versatility and ultimate fall comfort flavor.
