Summer is Heating Up!

Summer is Heating Up!

And our crops are flourishing. As we transition into late summer with this heat wave, it is essential that we keep an eye on what is happening in our luscious space. We are sure to stay on top of watering, weeding, thinning, and monitoring our plants for pests and diseases. The more you weed the better off your plants will be!

WHAT’S NEW
This week we had our first harvests of summer squash and they just keep coming! An exciting summer combo that is looking good are our tomatoes and basil. We have done lots of pruning this past week as fruit is forming and the flowers on our basil want to bloom to promote growth.

OUR CURRENT PLANT LIST
Some of our favorite crops on the menu this week:

  • Cube of Butter Summer Squash
  • Dario Zucchini
  • Latino Zucchini
  • Caserta Summer Squash
  • Lacinato Kale

We are also planning our fall garden. Tune in next week for tips on seeds and planning ahead for fall.
