What to do with all the strawberries you’ve grown or bought? How about strawberry shortcake with our Citrus Scented Biscuits
Citrus Scented Biscuit Recipe (makes 8)
2 cups flour, plus extra for working dough 
2 tablespoons, plus extra for sprinkling 
2 teaspoons baking powder 
12 tablespoons cold butter diced
2 eggs lightly beaten 
1/2 cup heavy cream cold 
Zest of one lemon or orange 

Preheat 400 degrees 

Sift the flower sugar, baking powder, and salt into the bowl of an electric mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment . Blend in the butter at the lowest speed and mix until the butter is the size of peas. Combined the eggs, heavy cream and citrus zest and quickly add the flour and butter mixture. Mix until just blended. The dough will be sticky. 

Dump the dough out onto a well floured surface . Flour hands and pat the dough out 3/4 inch thick. You may need to use up to a half cup flour. You should see lumps of butter in the dough. 

Cut biscuits with a 2 or 3 inch cutter and place on baking sheet lined with parchment 

Brush the tops with egg wash. Sprinkle with sugar and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the outsides are crisp and the insides are fully baked.
